About the role
StashAway is seeking a superstar Country Manager ("SEO") who is strongly aligned with its mission to redefine investing and empower people to build their long-term wealth.

With the Country Manager, you will manage, build and lead a dynamic team to deliver the solution in the United Arab Emirates. This involves overseeing the team, pioneering business development, developing relationships with financial regulators and vendors.

Closely collaborating with functional and regional leaders, you will grow StashAway's business in line with the company's vision and transparent growth targets.

You should be a natural born leader, highly capable of influencing and driving decisions with an analytical approach. Your communication skills will be exceptional with proven ability to coach, support and inspire a team.

In this role, you will be the main voice and ambassador of our business and operations in the United Arab Emirates. Externally, you are the face of StashAway in the United States of Emirates, and will be responsible to build partnerships and relationships with public and private stakeholders. This role is also media-facing, and you should have some level of experience interacting with the press.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all operations within the United Arab Emirates, by taking responsibility for profit, revenue, and cash flow targets.
  • Ensure successful planning and execution of local strategy.
  • Build the brand on the ground with all given levers of branding, communications, partnerships etc. and grow both our mission and the business.
  • Articulates StashAway's vision into strategies and actionable plans.
  • Inform and support local strategy by maintaining relationships with the financial regulators.
  • Pioneers business development efforts to explore and reach out to customer segments (e.g. B2C, partnerships, HNW/UNHW individuals, B2B)
  • Closely work with functions (Marketing, Compliance, Technology, People & Culture) locally and from Singapore to ensure strategy works well with all departments involved.
  • This role directly reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Requirements
Must-haves:
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in securities investment, risk management related to securities investment, or securities analysis).
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic, including the ability to take complex, ambiguous topics and create compelling narratives for different audiences.
  • Background in Entrepreneurship, Marketing/Business Development, Operations or Management Consulting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance or Law with top-of-the-class grades.
  • Demonstrated track record of having worked in a rapidly growing international company.
  • Has or able to develop a strong network with senior stakeholders in the United Arab Emirates.
  • Able to lead through influence in a cross-functional and international environment.
  • Strong capabilities in the areas of critical thinking and quantitative problem-solving with a proven ability to learn fast. Stellar interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • A natural born leader with a passion for developing people, to get the best out of them. Hire, motivate, empower and retain the best talent available.
  • Positive, dedicated and resilient; you are a stickler for excellence and possess a keen eye for details.
Good-to-haves:
  • Have an internationally recognised professional qualification in Finance, e.g. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
  • Good understanding of the Fintech industry.
