SG - Content Manager

Permanent employee, Full-time · Singapore

About the role
Application requirements: When you apply, we would like to see an attached portfolio that demonstrates your capabilities as described in the job description below. In your portfolio, please provide at least 2 B2C articles-- with at least 1 article that dives into a substantially technical topic.

We’re looking for a Content Manager who lives and breathes all things content. We want someone who writes for all channels, owns the editorial calendar, and manages and acts on the associated metrics.

Our content is not only a means to maintaining a strong brand; it’s also key in helping the company achieve our business objectives and in guiding our clients through the vast world of personal finance. In short, every piece of content-- big or small-- is strategic.

If you’re our next Content Manager, your strongest skill set will without a doubt be writing and editing: no character count limitation scares you, and no message is too difficult to craft beautifully. You can distill very technical concepts into articles that even an investing novice could understand, and that an investing expert could also appreciate. The articles you write aren't clickbait, but rather provide meaningful value to individuals navigating their personal finance journeys. You’ll come up with new ways to enhance the user journey and brand by leveraging different channels and testing different messages. To plan and develop content, you’ll collaborate with creatives and analysts, and you’ll simultaneously consider brand strategy, product marketing objectives, and business goals.

This is an end-to-end content role that is responsible for 4-5 articles a month, contributes to the management and production of our podcast, videos, social media, amongst other channels, and manages the strategy and success of our content. The role reports into the Head of Communications, and is a regional role. This role is responsible for a lot, and even makes us ask, what does the content manager NOT do?! The role is all at once dynamic, creative, and technical. And, if you’re the right candidate, that’s exactly why you’ll love your job.

Things you’ll do (definitely not exhaustive)
  • Produce content and ensure quality across all the company’s channels:
    • Write 4-5 personal finance articles (long-form and short-form) for the group each month
    • Write email and push notification copy for CRM campaigns and product alerts
    • Edit social media captions for Singapore, Malaysia, and UAE
    • Write copy for OOH ads (radio, print) for Singapore, Malaysia, and UAE
    • Write copy for website and landing pages
    • Write descriptions and titles for our podcast, videos, and other media
  • Manage the editorial calendar, and make planning decisions based on data
  • Obsess over metrics (including but not limited to traffic, keyword growth, first page rankings, SERP, and page views), and make decisions to improve them over time
  • Manage newsletter planning and success
  • Repurpose content, and refresh existing content
  • Come up with new content ideas to engage our clients and build our brand awareness
Requirements
  • You’re a top-tier writer and editor who can write 33-character SEM ads and 2000-word articles, and everything in between
  • You have at least 2-3 years of experience in a content management role, or similar marketing, journalist, or creative role (can be in-house or agency)
  • You’re super organised, always looking for ways to do things better and more efficiently
  • You’re comfortable trying new formats and channels
  • You’re hungry to learn and push yourself to do more
  • You have the aptitude and willingness to master technical financial and economic concepts so that you can distill them simply (no previous knowledge on these topics is necessary, but you’ll be expected to learn them quickly once you join)
  • No writing or editing task is too big or small for you-- you understand that every word and punctuation mark matters. You embrace the oxford comma, and can remove nominalisations and the passive voice in your sleep
  • You’re a team player
  • You perform well under deadlines
  • You have excellent communication skills, and are a natural storyteller
  • You have experience in project management and managing an editorial calendar, SEO, and email marketing, Google Adwords and Keyword Planner, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console
  • You’re detail-oriented, but also can see the big picture
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • Fluency and mastery in English is a must, and fluency in Bahasa is a plus
